Women's Empowerment

Softball is a gender-neutral, equal opportunity sport, and at it’s very core it teaches a lesson in gender equality. Run The Bases believes softball has the power to bring communities together. They teach the sport and impact the live’s of the kids by teaching them they can have fun regardless of their race, gender, or ability. Essentially, you’re helping kids learn comradery, and we need more of that around.

The Natasha Watley Foundation works to instill positive, long lasting life skills in young girls from disadvantaged communities through the sport of softball. Their work is centered around the empowerment of young women in order to create future leaders with confidence, leadership abilities and healthy lifestyles. With over 3,000 participants, this foundation is creating new avenues for ambitious women to develop their character and become the best versions of themselves.

Rose Haven is an all inclusive day-shelter for women, children and gender non-conforming people. They provide every basic need in the book from food to therapy and actually encourage lasting changes. They also have a thriving online community which is a huge asset to their guests and the community.

For over 15 years the Women’s Fund has been investing in the futures of girls and women in Rhode Island. The future is female, and The Women’s Fund of Rhode Island believes not just funding but also the importance of celebrating women.
